Through all the crazy things that have happened over the last few months and the world feeling like it has shut down, there’s a dominating fear: there is no more money.

Yes, people are losing jobs. The stock market has suffered. I can’t deny that.

But there is always an abundance of money.

It’s not that money is lacking, but that the ways we always did things before won’t work now, or maybe ever again.

We are in a new world.

To thrive, we’re going to have to think outside the box. We’re going to have to explore the new possibilities for making money that exist right now (not last year).

It begins with building relationships.

The Attitude of Opportunity says that the people we connect with are the ones who will bring us more resources — meaning… no people, no money. People must matter first.

Here’s the 3-2-1 on this aspect of the Attitude of Opportunity.

3 TRUTHS

I. Money is a relationship. We have to build more relationships to make more money.

II. When we network, we need to focus on how we can serve others (“I see you may need…”), not how we can sell our services (“Buy from me now…”). Entering into new relationships through service will return the resources we are looking for.

III. Who we connect with matters. Our connections lead us to the exact person, solution, or opportunity we need in order to grow what we’ve already planted and create the income we know we can make. So connect with people who align with your values, direction, goals, etc.

2 ACTIONABLE STEPS

I. Make at least one new connection this week.

II. Consider how you serve your connections (How can you help them?). Let service guide the conversation and relationship.
